Company: Reef Technologies
Location: REMOTE (EMEA/APAC)
Type: CONTRACT
Salary: 45-70 USD or 180-280 PLN per hour
We’re looking for Python backend engineers to work on a trustless supercluster of performance-proofed GPU-enabled sandboxed docker container runners controlled by truly decentralized algorithms. If you found it interesting, join Reef Technologies and tackle complex technical challenges on your own terms. Contribute from wherever you like, set your own time commitment, see how we work in our handbook, and influence the way we operate through our Sociocracy 3.0 decision-making process. We're looking for someone with 5+ years of programming experience, including at least a year with Python (including opensource and significant personal projects).
Company: Labor Solutions
Location: Remote (India)
Type: FULL_TIME
We run a worker wellbeing and compliance platform used by global buyers and their supply chain sites across Asia. We're in the middle of a meaningful migration and platform buildout — you'd be joining at a point where architectural decisions matter and your fingerprints will be on the system for years. The stack is Django + Python on the backend, dbt for data transformation, React/Next.js on web, and Expo/React Native for mobile. We run on AWS and Azure. Currently, we're migrating legacy services while simultaneously shipping new features — so you'll need to be comfortable holding both in your head. We're looking for strong Python/Django chops, comfortable with React/Next.js, and you understand what a data pipeline does. Cloud experience on AWS or Azure is needed, and you care about code quality without being precious about it. This isn't a greenfield startup, but real work with real users and technical debt. Fully remote, India-based.
Company: Recover Systems
Location: Portland, Maine
Type: FULL_TIME
Salary: 130-160k + meaningful equity from first option pool
Recover is building the infrastructure for all restoration work, streamlining how remediation contractors run jobs while we handle the red tape and headaches. Recover is a platform born from insurance requirements, financial ledgers, spatial intelligence; built to collapse hundreds of messy painpoints into a single flow. We've just closed our seed round, live desktop and IOS app and are ramping up to convert demo offices to live deployments and rolling out to 50+ waitlisted offices. We're sprinting fast to cover the last features in V1 roadmap including subcontractor portal and insurance disputes workflows and one-click materials marketplace. We're hiring for a specific type of engineer: PM-minded engineer for messy domains. The rare hybrid who can sit across from an insurance adjuster, a franchisee, and a senior estimator in the same day, walk away with the actual workflow in their head, and collapse a scattered process into a single screen the technician actually wants to open. Owns the full loop: stakeholder interview → spec doc → spreadsheet model → prototype → production. Equal parts taste, insight, and stamina. Ships features that flow smoothly and improve how work gets done.

Company: Stream
Location: Amsterdam (NL), Skopje (North Macedonia)
Type: FULL_TIME
We power real-time Chat, Video, Activity Feeds, and AI Moderation for apps like Strava, Bumble, eBay, and Patreon - billions of API requests per month, millions of concurrent users. We're looking for a hands-on Lead Engineer (Staff / Principal level) to own Platform Infrastructure. Reports directly to the CTO. Small, senior team - you'll write code most of the time, not run a process org. First 6 months focus on three things with measurable outcomes: * Cloud cost optimization (AWS/GCP) — tooling and guardrails, not reports * Platform reliability and scalability — SLOs, observability, hardening * Architecture decisions on Kubernetes, databases, and cloud provider strategy. Stack: Go, Python, AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, CockroachDB, Redis, Terraform. Looking for: software engineering background (Go or Python, not scripting-only), production cloud cost optimization experience, real distributed systems depth, and active AI tooling use in your engineering workflow. Not a fit if: you're security/compliance-heavy, scripting-only, or dependent on large-org support structures.

Type: FULL_TIME
We’re building a best-in-class multi-modal AI agent product (voice + SMS + email) with the potential to disrupt deeply entrenched software businesses and unify a fragmented industry. We’re a tiny team with real traction pre-product, moving fast, and we care obsessively about craft. This is a founding engineering seat: you’ll be an early builder shaping the product, architecture, and quality bar from day one. Build real-time systems for voice (streaming audio, low latency, turn-taking), SMS, and email automation with robust state + memory. Partner closely with the co-founders on product decisions. Strong product sense, systems thinking, high ownership, and a startup mindset are required. Bonus points include experience with agentic systems, voice/telephony, and modern tech stacks.

12 is a software consulting and custom development agency. We have mid and senior level positions. Our job descriptions are written by developers for developers. No HR fluff here, we want you to know what you are really getting into. We have a commitment to transparency and offer a no surprises experience throughout the interview and hiring process. We are seeking an experienced engineer to support the migration of an existing flight-control implementation from a flight-verified Simulink-like development environment into an ArduPilot-based production implementation. This is a 1-2 month contract position, with potential for future full-time work. The primary task is to create a custom ArduPilot airframe configuration for a (slightly) nonstandard vehicle. This work will focus on actuator/output mixing, PWM output expansion, firmware integration, and hardware-level debugging on a Pixhawk-based flight controller. A successful candidate will have worked closely on a similar task and is very familiar with Ardupilot.

Company: Y Combinator
Location: San Francisco
Type: FULL_TIME
Salary: $185K-$485K
I'm Ryan, an EM and engineer here at YC. We have a small, 18-person software team with no PMs -- engineers own everything end-to-end. We build the software behind YC's $6B in investments: tools that help partners evaluate thousands of startups per batch, AI-powered apps that founders use every day, and platforms like Work at a Startup that connect candidates with YC companies. Engineers get unlimited AI tokens -- both for development and to build AI-powered products. What wouldn't you build to help founders + YC with that much firepower? What makes this different from other roles: You'd learn more about startups here than you could possibly imagine. Every batch brings hundreds of founders building things across every industry, and you're right in the middle of it. We attend Demo Day, founder dinners, and work directly with partners and many of the companies. (They make great products!) We pay well, offer carry in the fund (like equity), and provide generous relocation support if you're not in SF yet. Two roles open: Product Engineer -- full-stack, own the product lifecycle. Rails/React stack. Build tools that power how YC invests in and supports startups. It's a wide range, and sometimes it feels like labs-like work, other times it feels like a supersuit to power founders and our Partners like Garry and Jared. Community Builder and Software Engineer -- hybrid role. Run YC's talent-facing programs (meetups, tech talks, career expos) AND build the software that makes them scale. You need to be a great engineer and LOVE to build and support communities.

Location: Vancouver, BC
Type: FULL_TIME
Salary: $120-$130k CAD

We're building this AI-native from the ground up; ML inference is embedded throughout the pipeline, not bolted on. We're looking for our founding senior backend engineer who wants to work on genuinely challenging infrastructure problems across distributed systems and media processing with immense scale. Should be familiar with Golang, Postgres, Distributed systems, Distributed filesystems (e.g. HDFS, Ceph, etc).
