Hourly texts that are good for your body and mind

Text "freeze" at anytime to stop getting messages

Being an office worker myself, sometimes I can spend hours in one place. Leveraging the handy ErgoBot on twitter, I built ErgoTxt… every hour it sends registered users a text message to tell them to do something.

These messages are generated by ErgoBot and sent straight to you, so you can get reminded to get up and do something.

Hang arms down at your sides. Slowly bring fingers up so palms are facing floor. Feel the stretch in arms and hands. Hold for 10. Repeat.

When pausing in work, notice if any parts of body stay hunched or tense. Work on keeping those in relaxed position. Shoulders back! Water!

In meeting? Align spine, shoulders back. Lift heel to point toes to floor, then point toes up (repeat, under table, of course!) Drink water.

Raise arms straight in front of you, turn them, crisscross them so palms touch. Hold. Repeat. Wiggle toes. Look far away. Focus on breathing

Planning? Thinking? Stand up or walk around instead of sitting at keyboard. Rub hands w/vigor till warm before keyboarding. Lower shoulders!

  1. How often will I receive a text?

You will receive a text hourly from 9am to 5pm your local time. We do some calculations when you first sign up to get your timezone, so you don't have to worry about it.

  2. Where do the messages come from?

The messages come from the handy ErgoBot twitter feed. I find it easier to get an hourly text to remind me to do something, so that's why I built it.
